A longstanding member of the De Pere, Wisconsin, community, Father Jay Fostner serves as St. Norbert College’s vice president for mission and student affairs. Working within a small liberal arts college setting, he maintains oversight over the health center and campus safety initiatives. Moreover, Father Jay Fostner oversees the directors of not only The Office of Leadership Development and Multicultural Affairs, but also Residential Education and Housing.

Fr. Fostner’s responsibilities extend to oversight of the Campus Ministry, and he has preached in numerous Sunday mass and service settings and performed baptisms and weddings. Another area of focus is on assisting people who have experienced trauma. Having successfully taught theology and psychology, he earned Educator of the Year distinction at St. Norbert College in the early 2000s. He intends to return to teaching in the near future, which will likely involve a sabbatical process that includes retraining in pedagogical techniques.

Fr. Fostner’s has guided efforts that involved a complete rewriting of the student code of conduct and sought to foster diversity and inclusion on a campus-wide level.
